Machete Vox is a dope Frisco based label artist collective. The Vox is that next Bay shit! Machete Vox Records is proud to present “Sneak Preview”, a sampler of what The Vox will be releasing thru 08 - 09. The Sneak Preview features the label roster: Z-Man (One Block Radius, Gurp City), Dnae Beats (producer for Gift of Gab, Pigeon John, Azeem, M.F Grimm, Lateef, Gurp City), Conceit (Freestyle Olympics champ, Youtube “on the rise” music video contest winner, Million bucks, Gurp city), Boac (Earthlings, million bucks, Gurp city,producer for Sunspot Jonz), Million Bucks (Conceit and Boac), and special guest - Gift of Gab (Blackalicious, The Mighty Underdogs, Quannum). The Sneak preview is a perfect mix of the future and the past. Samples, synths, blapping drums, sound effects and vocals come together in a unique new way. Solo songs, group songs, and a few exclusives round out this collection of ill blaps. Highlights include the track, “8 Bars of Death”, where Dnae Beats, plays 8 minutes of constantly changing beats, and “Number one”, featuring Gift of Gab, considered to be one of the most talented emcees in the world.

Kiwi, also known as Kiwi Illafonte or Young Bonifacio, is a Los Angeles native now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area who has been an integral part of the California independent hip hop scene for years, having begun rapping in the late 1980s. His first full-length album, Writes of Passage: Portraits of a Son Rising (which is part of the syllabus in San Francisco State’s Filipino-American Literature Class), was released in 2003. He went on to release The Summer Exposure Mixtape in June 2007. He was also the former host/producer of Apex Express on 94.1FM KPFA in Berkeley, California, and was featured as a Keynote Speaker at the 2007 Sandiwa Conference. Currently, Kiwi coordinates and co-facilitates the Hip Hop Workshop series for young folks at San Francisco’s Filipino Community Center, and is working on his next solo album, “The People’s Pistol,” due Spring 2008.
