The world of hip-hop is as competitive as ever, and nowhere is that truer than among producers, one of the few lucrative positions left in the market. Like emcees, producers are now battling in competitions to establish their name and separate themselves from the rest of the MPC bangers. The name Illmind first popped off on the Beat Society circuit, where he showcased with heavyweights like Kanye West and Just Blaze. Primarily known for producing tracks for underground heavyweights such as Little Brother, Boot Camp Clik, Akrobatik, and El Da Sensei, Sha Money XL’s Money Management Group has recently upgraded the New Jersey beat-smith’s seat from economy to first class, bringing new Illmind produced songs with 50 Cent, G-Unit, Redman, Black Eyed Peas, Scarface, LL Cool J, and many more. He has also been featured in multiple magazine and online publications, such as Scratch Magazine (Top 20 Best Producers), Mass Appeal, The Source, XXL, Hiphopgame.com, Hiphopdx.com, and more. But before the backpackers get their blog on, the equal-opportunity producer shows that with follow-up projects with Diamond D, Heltah Skeltah, Pharoah Monch, Jay Electronica, and more, a T-Shirt/Mixtape Line, music for the Jabbawockeez, and up-coming projects with his soon to be world-reknowned crew, Fortilive, he hasn’t forgotten his roots.

Live and Direct from the O, Built from Skratch is proud to present the Hieroglyphics crew – Del, Casual, Domino, Pep Love, and the Souls of Mischief – A Plus, Opio, Phesto and Tajai. DJ Romeo sits down with each member of the crew and talks about the record industry, being part of one of the biggest indie labels in the game, Hiero clothing and jeans, solo and group projects, and the future. Come see one of the most universally respected crews in the game talk about how they got where they are today! Always repping the Bay hard, and always staying true to mantra of dope hiphop and a dope stage show. It’s Hiero ya’ll!

Next we have Seattle’s own Mr. Hill, producer extraordinaire. Mr. Hill has produced for everyone from Kool Keith, Akrobatik, Grayskul, and the Boom Bap Project. Whether it’s banging out beats for one of the top talents in hiphop or constructing songs for MTV, Hill is at home with the music. Come check one of the fastest rising, most sought after producers in the NW, and one of the creators of the Seattle sound.

Finally, a special inside look at Highland Jewelry in Hayward, CA.
